Zimbali Lodge is a well-known destination, but its existing restaurant offering lacked a clear identity and sense of occasion. Eleven Tribes was introduced to change that, a new concept celebrating South Africa’s 11 tribes through food, design, and experience.

The challenge was to launch a brand-new restaurant within an already established resort while ensuring it felt modern, relevant, and premium. More importantly, Eleven Tribes needed to stand on its own, not as a lodge amenity, but as a destination in its own right, with momentum from day one.

Boring Co. was brought in as the creative and marketing partner, working closely with Dream Resorts’ in-house team. Our role was end-to-end: shaping brand direction, aligning design and storytelling, leading launch planning, and defining how the restaurant would be experienced both online and in person.

Through cinema-level content, social storytelling, influencer and PR activations, and ongoing brand upkeep, every touchpoint was designed to establish Eleven Tribes as a confident, contemporary dining destination from the outset.
